Ryan Mense:

The overall sharpness from this lens is probably the best I’ve seen from any Sony FE lens placed on an Alpha mirrorless camera.

I think sharpness, bokeh, usability, and a nifty tripod collar are all features that people have come to expect from today’s newest lenses.

What I didn’t expect was the 70-200mm GM’s pricing. The general photography crowd prepared itself for a $3000+ USD price tag, which would put this lens out of the range for 95% of prosumers and 99% of enthusiasts. At $2600 USD, I can’t help but feel like this lens is a bargain.

The 70-200mm GM went from a “no-way” to a “I really want that lens” in my books the moment I saw that price tag.

Update: You can now pre-order the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM lens on Amazon.
