⤷ Baseball Alberta Officially Cancels 2019 Summer Baseball Season ●

There’s no way the rest of the provincial branches won’t cancel their seasons. We’ve been banking on this in our local leagues for awhile already, but were silently holding out hope. All hope looks lost now.

⤷ The Art of Photography’s Review of the Canon 50mm f/1.2 RF Lens ●

This is one of the few YouTube reviews that shows the lens attached to the camera and someone actually holding the camera with the lens. Also, I had never heard of “field curvature” before, but it makes a lot of sense.

⤷ Twitter Will Allow Employees to Work From Home Permanently ●

This idea seems inevitable. Two additional thoughts. First, I wonder what this will do to property values in rural areas? In urban areas? And second, will this stir changes to tax law regarding deductibility of home expenses for standard employment income? Currently, these types of expenses aren’t really deductible.

⤷ Magic Keyboard’s GrimeGate ●

Apple’s choice to continue on with this external keyboard material has to be for a reason other than aesthetics and durability. Why do they insist on this material? ⤷ The Office on Slack ●

This is, in a word, brilliant. And not some quickly thrown together project either. The design of the site, among other things, is awesome.

⤷ Retiring After Age 65 Is Not a Failure ●

This was written in pre-COVID-19 days, but it stands more true than ever: delaying retirement is not only going to be a necessary idea, it’s going to be a healthy idea. Many, many people I see who retire young (say in their 50s) get very bored, very quickly.

⤷ How to Setup a Hands-Off ETF Portfolio ●

There are some great investing tips in here from the Canadian Couch Potato. My favourite: DRIPs. DRIPs are one of the biggest cost savers in my current portfolio and I love watching each DRIP holding churn each year, creating a life of its own.

⤷ Three Rules for Reducing Email from Cal Newport ●

There’s some great email advice in here, as is usually the case from Newport. The advice might be a bit proprietary, but overall, is likely applicable to a large swath of roles and careers.

⤷ Numeric Citizen’s Blogging Workflow ●

I love this graphic and should do up one for myself to ensure I don’t have extra steps that could otherwise be eliminated. Also, this just begs to be automated with Shortcuts.
