Back in February, an Olympus Representative sent me the OM-D E-M10 Mark II, the 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye PRO, and the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO for testing. Today, I published the review of the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO on Tools & Toys.
Of the three products I tested, the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO actually surprised me the most. And that’s “surprised me the most” with a bad connotation — I went into the testing time expecting to love the lens, but came away knowing I need to work on my wide angle photography.
The lens itself is stunning. Build quality is tremendous and the images pushed through the glass have some of the best colour vibrance I’ve seen straight out of camera. It’s an amazing piece of glass.
In the end though, it’s about the number of keepers in your photo collection. And the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO only created a single photograph which I’ll be putting in a year-end photo book.
