Álvaro Serrano:
But with so many new and shiny things to choose from, it can sometimes be hard to make the right choice for your needs. In this guide, we’ll go over some of the best pieces of glass for the system, focusing on the ones that can be considered great long-term investments.
Álvaro’s guide is packed full of the best recommendations, and they don’t deviate in the slightest from my own research either. Every single pick is spot on, including his purchasing advice near the end of the guide.
It may seem biased, but when I was researching which camera to purchase for my recent project last week, the most helpful pieces on the Sony system were written by Álvaro. Other pieces about the Sony system — like those written by Jordan Steele — were also helpful, but from a more technical perspective. Álvaro’s recent body of work has a humanist element to it and was very approachable for someone like me who has relatively poor knowledge of technical photography but is in search of the best image quality possible.
If it hadn’t been for Álvaro’s love of the Sony a7II and the Sony Zeiss FE 55mm f/1.8 lens, I may have gone a different route.
