It’s Friday. It’s time to celebrate.
I generally don’t throw Bible verses around, but when they apply to all human beings, regardless of their faith or practices, I think I’m safe.
Jesus Christ said to his listeners during the Sermon on the Mount:
Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I’ve never believed we’re supposed to live each day like it’s our last, and I don’t believe Jesus Christ meant this phrase in such a context. He merely said not to worry about tomorrow.
Each day is a battle. Each day has its toll.
So at the end of the week, I say it’s time to celebrate.
Not in excess, of course. But in a smile. In reflection.
We’ve made it through five days of stress and pressure. Sit back. Have a beer or a glass of wine. Give your spouse a kiss.
And leave tomorrow’s battle for tomorrow.
Cheers, my friends.
