Making money and having spare time seem to be mutually exclusive. To me at least, it feels that way.
Making money is easy. Get an education. Make smart investments. Work overtime.
Finding spare time is also easy. Say no to extra activities. Take your full vacation. Leave work at the office. Don’t volunteer.
But having a comfortable financial situation and a comfortable time situation seems like an exceptionally difficult balance to achieve. In my current situation, I envy those people who have this balance figured out. It appears to be the perfect way to live life.
The obvious answer is to be more content with your financial situation. And to say no to impossible tasks. Unfortunately, this is far easier said than done.
For now, this is my life goal: Finding the perfect level of income and the perfect amount of spare time and balancing those around my wife and future family.
